Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Second half goals from experienced attacker Emmanuel Okwi and centre back Jean Bosco Akayezu aided AS Kigali to a 2-0 win over relegation-bound Vision FC in a Rwanda Premier League week 26 game at Kigali Pele Stadium on Monday.<\/p>\n

The defeat put Vision FC on the brink of relegation despite receiving financial backup from a host of sponsors including Limoz Rwanda who were, before the match, unveiled as new club partner during the next three seasons.<\/p>\n

Marcel Lomami\u2019s side firmly stays at the bottom of the table with 20 points, seven behind 15th placed Marines FC.<\/p>\n

AS Kigali head coach Shaban Mbarushimana started three of his key players including skipper Haruna Niyonzima, centre back Franklin Onyeabor and striker Shabani Hussein on the bench to give more players some playing time. Vision also had Stephen Bonney, striker Musa Esenu and midfielder Idarusi Cyubahiro also on the bench.<\/p>\n

It was a game of few chances in the first half which ended goalless although AS Kigali looked more purposeful upfront and their attacking trio of Emmanuel Okwi, Prince Rudasingwa and Saidi Abubakar caused problems for the Vision back four with their interposition play.<\/p>\n

The likes of Mossi Rurangwa and Posper Rugangazi found Rudasingwa a tough customer as the former Rayon Sports striker took all the aerial balls.<\/p>\n

Vision star striker Onesme Twizerimana was, on the other side, isolated upfront as he tried to do make space to score on his own but Akayezu made some timely interventions to keep him at bay before the first half ended.<\/p>\n

AS Kigali continued their dominance in the second half and they shot ahead in the 56th minute through a cool finish from Okwi.<\/p>\n

The goal brought the Vision FC players out of their shells allowing AS Kigali to put the balls behind them.<\/p>\n

Vision FC goalkeeper Michael Lutaya made a couple of good saves from the rampaging AS Kigali attackers to prevent his side from conceding an avalanche of goals.<\/p>\n

However, their resilience did not last as Akayezu scored the second goal for the visitors in the 73rd minute to make it 2-0.<\/p>\n

With the lead, AS Kigali slowed the tempo of the game as they held on until the end of the encounter.<\/p>\n

The result didn\u2019t make any impact on the table as AS Kigali maintained their third place with 44 points, nine behind league leaders Rayon Sports.<\/p>\n
