Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>During the inaugural International Security Conference on Africa (ISCA) that kicked off in Kigali, on Monday, May 19, Rwanda showcased locally manufactured defense weapons.<\/p>\n

Held under the theme \u201cReshaping Africa\u2019s Landscape in a Dynamic, Complex Global Environment\u201d, the two-day forum offers continental and global defense, intelligence, and security actors a platform to tackle pressing security challenges and shape a collaborative future.<\/p>\n

The participants from 17 countries include security and intelligence experts, policymakers, private security companies, and civil society, among others.<\/p>\n

Private security companies from 10 countries across the world are showcasing defense and security weapons of different capacities. The exhibitors include Rwanda Engineering and Manufacturing Corporation (REMCO), a company from the host country. Established in 2018, the company is based and operates in Kigali special economic zone.<\/p>\n

Some of the showcased weapons include sniper rifles, assault rifles, machine guns, military tanks, and pistols.<\/p>\n

The New Times understands that the weapons are manufactured in collaboration with Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), an Israeli firearms manufacturer. The weapons produced are used by Rwandan Defence Force (RDF), the Israeli army, and other countries.<\/p>\n

The modern weapons are designed to be more accurate and precise, allowing for greater target selection and reduced collateral damage.<\/p>\n
