Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Producer prices in Rwanda increased by 13 per cent in July, compared to the same month in 2024, mainly due to a 16.2 per cent rise in manufacturing prices, according to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).<\/p>\n

The Producer Price Index (PPI) had risen by 11.9 per cent year-on-year in June and by 6.3 per cent in May.<\/p>\n

The PPI report released by NISR on August 29 shows that the Local Producer Price Index rose by 6.8 per cent compared to July 2024, driven by an 8.8 per cent increase in manufacturing activity prices.<\/p>\n

On a monthly basis, the local PPI dropped by 0.9 per cent, largely due to a 1.1 per cent decline in manufacturing activity prices.<\/p>\n

The Export Producer Price Index increased by 26.5 per cent, following a 37.5 per cent rise in tea product prices, a 24.3 per cent increase in coffee product prices, and a 25.4 per cent rise in the manufacturing of other chemical products.<\/p>\n

In July 2025, the export PPI increased by 26.5 per cent compared to the same month in 2024.<\/p>\n

On a monthly basis, the general PPI increased by 1.8 per cent, mainly due to a 2.1 per cent rise in manufacturing activity prices.<\/p>\n
