Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya\u2019s Naom Wafula delivered one of the highlights of the SportsBiz Africa Golf Championship on Thursday, September 4, when she struck a hole-in-one during the second round at Kigali Golf Resort & Villas. Meanwhile, Rwanda\u2019s Celestin Nsanzuwera tightened his grip on the leader-board with another commanding performance.<\/p>\n

Wafula\u2019s ace came on the par-3 second hole, sparking a composed round of 4-under-par 68 that lifted her tournament tally to 1-over-par 145. The effort secured her place among the top 30 golfers advancing to Friday\u2019s decisive round.<\/p>\n

Recalling the moment, Wafula said she didn\u2019t initially realise the ball had dropped.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the green is uphill, we couldn\u2019t see where it landed,\u201d she recounted. \u201cWhen we got there, one of the caddies said a ball had dropped in, and when we checked, it was mine. It was a hole-in-one! I was super happy, but my caddie calmed me down and reminded me that I still had a lot of golf to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the top, home favourite Nsanzuwera thrilled fans with a near-flawless display. He fired nine birdies and an eagle to card an impressive 9-under-par 63, taking his two-day total to 13-under-par 131. That left him seven shots clear of his closest challengers.<\/p>\n

Chasing him are South Africa\u2019s Travis Procter, two-time DP World Tour winner Haydn Porteous, and Kenya\u2019s John Wangai, all tied at 6-under-par 138. Wangai, the best-placed Kenyan after two rounds, carded 3-under despite three bogeys, while Procter and Porteous also signed for 69s to stay in contention.<\/p>\n

Other Kenyans making the cut include Eric Ooko, Jastas Madoya, Dismas Indiza, Mutahi Kibugu, Samuel Njoroge, Michael Karanga, John Lejirma, David Wakhu, Ken Abuto, Greg Snow, Daniel Nduva, Mohit Mediratta, Jacob Okello, and Njoroge Kibugu.<\/p>\n
