Tigers 83-77 REG<\/p>\n

Tigers basketball club won the Rwanda Cup 2025 after defeating Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 83\u201377 in the final on Friday night at Petit Stade.<\/p>\n

They become the second team to win the tournament since its inception in 2024. APR won the inaugural edition.<\/p>\n

Tigers started off brightly and took the first quarter 21-18 and second quarter 20-13 to go into halftime leading the game 41-36.<\/p>\n

The second half produced a thrilling battle between the two teams. REG, down five points at the break, made a huge turnaround to take the third quarter 32-24 and took a three-point lead but Tigers avoided claimed the decisive quarter 18-14 to avoid the upset.<\/p>\n

Herve Ikishatse was the hero for Tigers, scoring a game high 21 points in the final. His teammates Fiston Irutingabo and Picthou Manga also contributed 18 and 17 points respectively to the victory.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kepler basketball club finished in the third place of the tournament after defeating APR 74\u201362.<\/p>\n

Established this year, the Rwanda Cup aims to increase the number of competitions and teams in the country, fostering player development and raising overall performance standards.<\/p>\n
