Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Estonian Cyclist Rein Taaramae says Rwanda is the best place he has trained in his fifteen years as a professional racer.<\/p>\n

Taaramae who is taking part in the Tour du Oman which ended on February 15, says Rwanda is the best place for cyclists to train ahead of a tournament and he really enjoyed his training in the country.<\/p>\n

“I spent four weeks in Rwanda at altitude training camp,” Taaram\u00e4e told Cycling news ahead of the Tour of Oman’s third stage.<\/p>\n

“They have accommodation only for cyclists \u2013 a village from the government in 2015. Its 15 small houses, a small restaurant. It’s at 2,000 metres, the roads are good, and the people are very nice.”<\/p>\n

“There’s also no time difference if you go from central Europe, and actually it’s better than going to Tenerife or Sierra Nevada because there it’s cold and you can only go up and down, but in Rwanda it’s a little bit flat but with climbs as well. It really was the best experience for training camps in my 15-year pro career.” He added.<\/p>\n

Taaramae took part in the 2019 Tour du Rwanda where he was the second overall best and also in the 2020 event where he won the Mountain climbing classification.<\/p>\n
