Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Kepler VC on Friday, October 17, swept Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in the opening match of the 2025\/26 national volleyball league season at Petit Stade Gymnasium.<\/p>\n

Right attacker Wicklif Dusenge opened the league with the first point of the season and his early momentum lifted the team to a 10-0 lead before REG captain Kavaro Akumuntu hit first point to end the run. REG tried to close the gap but Kepler held on the take the first set 25-21.<\/p>\n

They then maintained the momentum and claimed second set 25-18 and, in the third and decisive set, Dusenge once again stood out to help Kepler complete the sweep with a 27-25 win.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur opening match went well. It\u2019s not easy to find rhythm early in the season, but I\u2019m happy with the result\u2014not because of my individual performance, but because of the team as a whole,\u201d Dusenge told Times Sport.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s category, APR WVC defeated Kepler WVC in what marked Kepler\u2019s second-ever match since joining the top division. The university-based club, coached by Florien Siborurema, struggled to keep up and lost 3-1 in sets (25-19, 16-25, 25-23, 25-14).<\/p>\n

APR WVC beat Kepler WVC in three sets in the opening match of the volleyball league season<\/p>\n
