{"id":113501,"date":"2025-10-20T16:29:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T16:29:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/rwanda\/all-news\/rwandas-mudenge-joins-global-financial-alliance-board"},"modified":"2025-10-20T18:43:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T18:43:23","slug":"rwandas-mudenge-joins-global-financial-alliance-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/rwanda\/policy\/rwandas-mudenge-joins-global-financial-alliance-board","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda&#8217;s Mudenge Joins Global Financial Alliance Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Kigali International Financial Center (KIFC) Chief Executive Hortense Mudenge has been elected as a new board member of the World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC).<\/p>\n<p>The election took place during WAIFC\u2019s annual general meeting held in Frankfurt, Germany, on September 29-30.<\/p>\n<p>She joins the board alongside Pawel Widawski, President of Future Finance Poland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were delighted to welcome a new member, two new board members, expand the Young Academic Award, and launch a joint project on AI in Finance \u2013 exploring opportunities, risks, and ways to accelerate adoption across global financial centers,\u201d said Lamia Merzouki, Chair of the WAIFC Board of Directors, during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>WAIFC is a non-profit organisation headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Established in Paris in 2018, it aims to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among the world\u2019s major financial hubs.<\/p>\n<p>Mudenge was appointed CEO of KIFC on July 16, after serving as the center\u2019s Chief Strategy Officer.
