Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>After months of postponement, the elections for the leadership of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Rwanda are set to take place on November 8, according to the special committee in charge of organising the polls.<\/p>\n

The committee released a list of approved candidates vying for various positions within the NPC.<\/p>\n

The previous committee, led by Jean Baptiste Murema, was supposed to end its mandate on June 28 and oversee the election of new leaders. However, alleged internal disputes between members of the executive committee caused significant delays.<\/p>\n

Jean Baptiste Murema is the leading president of National Paralympic Commiittee in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

To resolve the problem, the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) intervened, summoning the conflicting parties for mediation. NCPD Secretary General Emmanuel Ndayisaba confirmed that the issues have now been settled, paving the way for the elections to proceed as planned.<\/p>\n

List of approved candidates<\/p>\n

For the position of President, the race will be between Jean Paul Sekarema, Ephrem Mushimiyimana, and Dominique Bizimana.<\/p>\n

In the category of First Vice President in charge of Competition and Sports Development, three candidates have been approved: Esperance Kanyange, Innocent Mutabazi, and Jean Claude Ngabonziza.<\/p>\n

The position of Second Vice President in charge of Marketing and Communication will be contested by a single candidate, Hesron Uwitonze.<\/p>\n

For the role of Secretary General, Ce\u0301lestin Nzeyimana has been nominated as the sole candidate. Two candidates are vying for the position of Treasurer: Marie Claire Iriza and The\u0301oneste Ndayambaje.<\/p>\n

In the category of Women\u2019s Representative, Marie Claire Mukanganizi stands as the only contestant. The position of Dispute Resolution Officer has one candidate, Augustin Ngendanumwe, while Jean Claude Ndahiro is the sole contestant for Players\u2019 Representative.<\/p>\n

Six candidates were approved for the role of Financial Controller, and they are: Solange Uwiteka, Marthe Ingabire, Gratien Munyaneza, Edouard Habimana, and Basilien Hakuzimana.<\/p>\n

The position of Councilor will be contested by Jean Pierre Nkurayija, Elise Byukusenge, and Davide Twizerimana.<\/p>\n
