Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The fourth round of the 2025\/26 Rwanda National Volleyball League produced results which left some clubs in deep crisis while others continue to enjoy their bright start to the season.<\/p>\n

The league shifted to the recently inaugurated Ste Famille Gymnasium, which is now home of Rwanda Energy Group (REG).<\/p>\n

The club, however, failed to capitalize on their home advantage as they sadly lost their first home match against Police VC on Friday, November 7, before bouncing back to defeat Kirehe VC in four sets.<\/p>\n

The latter, just like Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC), remain winless after four matches and one more defeat is likely to put their coaches\u2019 job at risk.<\/p>\n

Times Sport takes you through some key highlights that shaped the fourth round of the league over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Gisagara VC continue fine form<\/p>\n

The southern-based club, currently coached by Yakan Guma Lawrence, continued their strong form over the weekend of the league\u2019s fourth round by making it four wins in four games this season when they beat RP-Ngoma on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Gisagara VC have been looking unstoppable this season and as they are yet to lose a single match, having also beaten Police VC on their home ground.<\/p>\n

They, however, sit second in the league standings with 11 points, trailing Kepler VC who lead with 12 points. The latter has played five games including Saturday\u2019s win over KVC in four sets.<\/p>\n

Kepler, led by newly signed coach Jean Patrick Ndaki, have played five games, one more than most other teams who are yet to contest their fifth match.<\/p>\n

Kirehe and KVC struggle again<\/p>\n

KVC and Kirehe VC remain the only clubs in the league which are yet to win a single match in the league campaign.<\/p>\n

KVC again fell short over the weekend with defeat to Kepler in the fourth round while Kirehe VC, who returned to league action after missing the 2024\/25 season, lost to REG VC.<\/p>\n

Things aren\u2019t going as planned, both clubs\u2019 coaches and any further slip-ups could put their jobs in jeopardy.<\/p>\n

Niyonkuru\u2019s starting berth in danger<\/p>\n

Star receiver Gloire Niyonkuru may be regarded by some as a key figure for Police VC, but head coach Fred Musoni probably thinks otherwise.<\/p>\n

The former Gisagara VC captain struggled to handle attacks from REG hitter Nicholas Matui on different occasions, prompting Musoni to change his plans and introduce Patrick Ishimwe to replace him on the reception.<\/p>\n

The youngster made an immediate impact as Police VC rallied from a set down to win the match.<\/p>\n

Musoni hailed Ishimwe as a \u201cpromising talent who deserves fair minutes.\u201d although he added that he is yet to field him as a starter, Niyonkuru could find himself fighting for a place with Ishimwe as long as he doesn\u2019t level up his game.<\/p>\n
