Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Students in boarding schools across Rwanda will begin travelling back to school from January 3-6, following the end-of-year festive break, the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has announced.<\/p>\n

The return comes after a two-week holiday, with travel set to commence two days after New Year celebrations.<\/p>\n

According to the travel timetable released on December 30, students will resume studies for the second term, which is scheduled to last 13 weeks and conclude on April 4.<\/p>\n

Under the phased return plan, students whose schools are in Nyanza, Kamonyi, Karongi, Rutsiro, Rulindo, Gakenke, Ngoma, and Kirehe districts will travel back on January 3. This will be followed on January 4 by students attending schools in Ruhango, Gisagara, Nyabihu, Rubavu, Burera, Rwamagana, and Kayonza.<\/p>\n

Students from schools in Muhanga, Nyaruguru, Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Bugesera, and Gicumbi are scheduled to return on January 5, while the final group will travel on Tuesday, January 6, covering schools located in Huye, Nyamagabe, Ngororero, Nyagatare, Gatsibo, Musanze, Nyarugenge, Gasabo, and Kicukiro districts.<\/p>\n

To ensure a smooth and orderly return, NESA has directed students to strictly follow their designated travel dates and wear their school uniforms while travelling.<\/p>\n

Parents have been urged to provide their children with official travel passes, while district and sector education officers have been tasked with overseeing the process and ensuring that schools are fully prepared to receive returning learners.<\/p>\n

To facilitate transportation, students departing from Kigali or those passing through the city on their way to other provinces will board buses from Kigali Pele Stadium in Nyamirambo.<\/p>\n

Authorities have said that the stadium will close at 3pm, and no student will be permitted to arrive after that time.<\/p>\n
