Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwandan midfielder Hakim Sahabo, currently playing for Belgian top-flight club Standard de Lie\u0300ge, is reportedly in talks with Greek Super League side AEK Athens F.C.<\/p>\n

Sahabo\u2019s contract with Standard de Lie\u0300ge is set to expire in June 2026, giving the 20-year-old the chance to negotiate either with his current club or other interested teams.<\/p>\n

The young talent has already attracted interest from several clubs, including Scottish giants Rangers F.C., but their offer of less than \u20ac1 million was turned down by his club in January.<\/p>\n

AEK Athens is now reportedly leading the race to sign Sahabo. According to reports, the Greek side has asked Standard de Lie\u0300ge to set a minimum fee of \u20ac1.5 million (approximately 2.6 billion Rwandan francs) to complete the transfer.<\/p>\n

If the deal succeeds, the Amavubi international would join one of Greece\u2019s strongest teams. AEK Athens currently tops the Greek Super League standings with 44 points after 18 matchdays, and the club is eager to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

Sahabo has featured in 34 games for Standard de Lie\u0300ge, accumulating 1,635 minutes of play. While the young midfielder has shown flashes of his potential, he has yet to secure a regular starting spot, making this move an opportunity for more consistent first-team action.<\/p>\n
