Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>President Paul Kagame on Wednesday held a t\u00eate-\u00e0-tete with host President Macky Sall, a day after Senegal launched a world class stadium. President Sall officially inaugurated the 50,000 capacity stadium on Tuesday, February 22.<\/p>\n

Details of the meeting between the two leaders were not disclosed by press time but presidency said that \u201cthey discussed various issues of continental and bilateral importance,\u201d in a brief tweet.<\/p>\n

Sall is the current chairperson of the African Union. On a continental level, Rwanda and Senegal are spearheading efforts to boost local vaccine manufacturing capabilities in partnership with BioNTech, a renowned biotechnology company.<\/p>\n

Both countries were last year identified as potential regional vaccine manufacturing hubs in Africa. The sustainable end to end vaccine supply solutions on the African continent was largely exposed by the inequality of Covid-19 vaccines.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rwanda and Senegal boast of a long-standing bilateral relationship. In the context of cooperation, several agreements have been signed at various levels including political, economic and cultural. Senegal is one of the African countries where Rwanda has an embassy.<\/p>\n
