Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Marie-Chantal Mukanzabarushimana filed an appeal challenging a decision taken by the Kicukiro Primary Court to remand her in February. Mukanzabarushimana was remanded on charges of being involved in the death of her five-year step daughter Elsie Akeza Rutayombya on January 14.<\/p>\n

Akeza drowned in a water tank at the home of the suspect which she shares with the deceased\u2019s father in Busanza Cell, Kanombe Sector in Kicukiro District.<\/p>\n

The defendant appealed her remand claiming there was no need to remand her arguing that she loved and lived with Akeza and was saddened by her death. She added that she has a baby that she needs to take care of.<\/p>\n

However, the prosecution requested court to remand her because she might interfere in the investigations. The bail ruling is scheduled for Monday, March 21.<\/p>\n
