Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Gisagara Volleyball Club have started preparations for the 2022 African Club Championships slated for May 5-18 in Tunis, Tunisia.<\/p>\n

Gisagara are the defending champions of the domestic league, and that is why they are Rwanda’s representatives at the continental tournament.<\/p>\n

As the team gears up for the tournament, it is carrying out daily training at the Gisagara Gymnasium in Gisagara district.<\/p>\n

Gisagara last appeared at the continental competition in 2019 in Cairo, finishing 11th in that edition.<\/p>\n

In 2018, the team was disqualified just days before the kick-off for delaying to confirm their participation to the organizers.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Times Sport on Thursday, Fidele Nyirimana the Head Coach of the club, said: \u201cIt\u2019s the second time Gisagara will be participating in the Africa Club Championship but we will go in the tournament hoping to do well.”<\/p>\n

He revealed that the team expects to play friendly games before going into the continental competition.<\/p>\n
