Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Basketball club\u2019s American players have arrived in the country to join their local counterparts for playoffs preparations.<\/p>\n

REG qualified for the playoffs that will take place in Kigali from May 21-28, thanks to the amazing performances they put up in the Sahara Conference group games that took place in Dakar, Senegal last month.<\/p>\n

REG won four out of its five games and topped the Sahara Conference that had big teams like Tunisia\u2019s US Monastir and Morocco\u2019s AS Sale.<\/p>\n

After the group stage exploits, some of its foreign players returned to their countries for a break, but have now started jetting into Rwanda to get ready for the playoffs.<\/p>\n

American shooting guard Cleveland Thomas Jr and his counterpart Anthony Rashad Walker who plays as a center have already arrived in Kigali.<\/p>\n

The two were pictured at the Kigali Arena recently, along with point guard Adonis Filer who was already in the country.<\/p>\n

Times Sport understands that they watched REG\u2019s league game against Espoir, where REG triumphed 91-51.<\/p>\n

Thomas and Walker were key players in REG\u2019s BAL group stage journey.<\/p>\n

Thomas, for example, contributed a game- high 26 points as REG defeated AS Sale 91-87 at the Dakar Arena to inspire his team off to a bright start of the Sahara Conference, a game that Walker also made an impact with 21 points.<\/p>\n

Robert Pack Jr, the American tactician who is coaching REG at the BAL is also expected in Kigali very soon, as the team is expected to start camp in the coming days.<\/p>\n
