Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The U-18 national team in the boys’ category have entered residential training camp in preparation for the upcoming African championships scheduled for August 4-14 in Antananarivo, Madagascar.<\/p>\n

The team is coached by Yves Murenzi and will camp at Green Hills Academy and will be doing training sessions at the same venue.<\/p>\n

The team earned its ticket to the continental showpiece after putting up an impressive performance in regional qualifiers that unfolded in Kampala, Uganda, where they topped the mini-competition that also attracted neighbouring countries including Uganda and Tanzania.<\/p>\n

So far, qualified teams for this year\u2019s U-18 African Championship include Senegal, Egypt, Mali, Guinea, Madagascar, Rwanda and Angola.<\/p>\n

Other qualified teams will be announced at a later stage.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, US-based Power forwards Sammy Arsene Ishimwe and Nzungize Rugamba as well as Belgium-based Point guard Herve Hitimana will join camp on July 25.<\/p>\n

While Prince Kabera, a power forward based in the USA, Briallant Brave Izere Rutsindura a centre also based in the USA is expected next week.<\/p>\n

Meddy Bahizi, Yvan Hirwa, Hubert Sage Kwizera, David Tuyizere, Boris Nkurunziza Hirwa, Chandelier Twizeyimana Cyiza Nshuti, Emmanuel Kayinamura, Ghislain Nubaha, Brian Karenzi, Dick Rutatika Sano, Axel Gakuba and Allan Rusizana.<\/p>\n
