Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda will compete in the 2022 Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) international tournament slated for next month.<\/p>\n

The competition which is held for amateurs in the sport to exhibit their talent at a bigger stage is scheduled to take place in the Ugandan capital of Kampala from 5th to 7th August, 2022.<\/p>\n

As many as thirty teams from East and Central Africa will participate in the event and so far, teams from Rwanda, are among those that have confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n

“To date, ten teams from Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi and Tanzania have confirmed their participation. More are still expected to join.” Ugandan volleyball president Sadiq Nasiwu stated.<\/p>\n

The sporting event which was established 22 years ago has not been held for the past three years due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

The last edition saw Uganda’s Nkumba University winning the ladies category whereas the men’s event was won by Homegrown Volleyball Club from Kenya.<\/p>\n
