Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>APR captain, Prince Buregeya, has said they need to take their game to the next level when the Rwanda Premier League returns, if they want to retain the league title.<\/p>\n

League pretenders APR and Police, shared spoils for the postponed match in a lively match played at Kigali Stadium on Monday evening, October 17.<\/p>\n

“We really need to play a lot better in the next matches than we did against Police. We need to raise our level. We\u2019ll go into the next matches looking for more wins than draws and we\u2019ll give it our best,\u201d the APR central defender said.<\/p>\n

APR dropped two points after being held to a 1-1 draw against Police FC.<\/p>\n

Left back Christian Ishimwe scored a stunning goal for the military side to put APR in the lead but Onesme Twizerimana canceled it out with a spot kick on the 65th minute.<\/p>\n

“We are expecting tough games ahead of us so we need to be ready. But we\u2019re not even thinking about what\u2019s gone on in the past but the future,” Buregeya added.<\/p>\n

The military side which dominated the game wasted several goal scoring opportunities in the first half when Yves Mugunga, Innocent Nshuti and League Byiringiro failed to score.<\/p>\n

Both teams displayed an attacking game in the first half as it was clear that all sides were looking for a win.<\/p>\n

Danny Usengimana and Twizerimana had clear chances for Vincent Mashami’s side when they found themselves in good situations to score but failed to hit the target.<\/p>\n

APR will not play again until the national team U23 finishes the game against Mali on October 22, at Huye Stadium. Their return leg is on October 29, in Bamako.<\/p>\n

Rayon Sports are leading the table with 12 points, followed by SC Kiyovu and Gasogi United with 10 points each.<\/p>\n
