Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>At around 10:45 a.m, a requiem mass to send off the deceased siblings at the Kabuga Diocese started with hundreds of relatives and friends of the children\u2019s family attending as a sombre cloud hovered around the church.<\/p>\n

The children, Joseph Fruit Sikubwabo, 14, Herve Shami Sikubwabo, 13, and Honore Racine Sikubwabo, 10, died in a road accident on October 23, when a truck lost control and knocked them dead.<\/p>\n

As parents stood at the altar bidding farewell to their beloved children, they spoke dearly about their children.<\/p>\n

The father of the deceased children Donath Sikubwabo said, “I am sad that Sikubwabo will not be able to serve the country as a soldier, as he always said that he will be a General when he grows up,” he said, adding that, “Shami wanted to be an electronic engineer and he always played with electronic gadgets, and the last born wanted to be a leader, but, unfortunately, their dreams have been curt short.”<\/p>\n

In addressing his deceased sons, he said “You’ve left us with loneliness that I can’t explain, you will forever stay in our hearts, we had a lot of plans together but unfortunately, we can’t go further with the plans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sikubwabo said that when he heard about the accident he went to Kacyiru hospital to wait for the bodies, adding that it was terrible since the bodies weren’t recognisable.<\/p>\n

Sikubwabo thanked Rwanda National Police for standing together with the family and coming to their home to comfort them.<\/p>\n

The Representative of GS Nyagasambu said that the siblings loved each other, \u201cI remember the elder brother would first drop the younger one to class and then proceed to his class.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that all of the three walked together each day, they were loving children and students \u201cI comfort all of you to stay strong, we shall meet together with them in heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n

The grandmother who was with the children at the time of the accident said the children were heading to attend their mother\u2019s dissertation presentation when the accident happened. \u201cThey were here to celebrate with their mother. They wanted to stay and spend a night. At around 4p.m, I called the dad asking if I should let them sleep over or send them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we walked towards the bus stop, heard a heavy bang and suddenly everyone around me disappeared. They had fallen under the bridge,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The deceased siblings were laid to rest today at around 12:50 at Rusororo cemetery.<\/p>\n\r\n
