Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The teacher\u2019s day which has been postponed twice is to take place on November 2 at BK Arena where more than 6,000 teachers will be gathered for the celebration.<\/p>\n

The day which is set to be celebrated this week is dedicated to teachers celebrating their efforts and contribution to education.<\/p>\n

The celebration will bring together teachers from 30 districts of the country and government officials who have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n

Usually, Teacher\u2019s Day is celebrated on October 5 worldwide. This year, it was observed under the theme \u201cThe transformation of education begins with teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The day is celebrated annually to honour and appreciate teachers for their contribution to education.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Governments around the world have been called to step up support for teachers, warning that the profession is struggling to retain its workforce and attract new talent.<\/p>\n

The call, issued by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), came ahead of International Teachers Day worldwide.<\/p>\n

Worldwide, 69 million teachers are needed to reach universal basic education by 2030. The largest deficit is in sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n
