Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The newly appointed cabinet ministers, Sabin Nsanzimana, the Minister of Health and his deputy Yvan Butera, Minister of state in the same Ministry took oath on Wednesday, November 30.<\/p>\n

The swearing-in ceremony took place at Parliamentary Buildings Kimihurura, and was presided over by President Paul Kagame.<\/p>\n

The duo was appointed by the head of state and their appointment was announced by Prime Minister E\u0301douard Ngirente in a statement issued two days ago, November 28.<\/p>\n

Nsanzimana is not a new face having been the Director General of Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) until he was tapped to head the University Teaching Hospital of Butare (CHUB).<\/p>\n

The soft-spoken epidemiologist replaces Dr. Daniel Ngamije, who has been at the helm of the Ministry since February, 2020.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the new Minister of State, Yvan Butera, who has also been serving as the Deputy Executive Secretary for Human Resources for Health in the same ministry, replaces Dr. Tharcisse Mpunga.<\/p>\n

Mpunga has since been appointed as Director General of the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK).<\/p>\n
