Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The Week 14 games of the 2022\/23 Rwanda Premier League season produced a series of results that affected many changes on the league table.<\/p>\n

Mukura Victory finally lifted themselves from the shadows of Police FC after 15 attempts whereas Rayon Sports are still chasing their first league win over APR FC since the 2018\/2019 season.<\/p>\n

Times Sport brings to you what we learnt from the Week 14 games.<\/p>\n

Mukura ends 16-game winless streak against Police FC<\/b><\/p>\n

Police FC had proven to be a bogey side of Mukura Victory over the years. In 15 previous meetings, Mukura had lost 9 and drawn 6.<\/p>\n

They finally got the much-needed victory as Robert Mukoghotya’s second-minute strike settled the clash in Huye in their 16th meeting.<\/p>\n

APR’s classico dominance goes on<\/b><\/p>\n

Rayon Sports\u2019 wait for the first league win over APR FC since the 2018\/2019 season continues as they fell to yet another 1-0 defeat against the military side.<\/p>\n

Goal scorer Yannick Bizimana is lifted up by his teammate during the celebration of the victory as APR FC beat Rayons Sports 1-0 at Kigali Stadium on Saturday December 17.<\/p>\n

Ben Moussa\u2019s men proved to be the better side in the derby when Yannick Bizimana’s 73rd minute goal summed up the crunch encounter in favor of the defending champions who are now unbeaten in their last seven meetings.<\/p>\n

Etincelles rise again!<\/b><\/p>\n

Etincelles were in crisis before the start of the season and there were doubts that the club would pull out of the Rwanda Premier due to financial constraints.<\/p>\n

But Rubavu District could not accept to see the team going like that and invested in it.<\/p>\n

The club has been superb in their last few games and a 2-0 win over Espoir in Rusizi saw them climb to sixth on the table.<\/p>\n

Their attack made up of Ibrahim Niyonsenga and Moro Sumaila has been at the heart of the club\u2019s goal hunt as they always either score or assist.<\/p>\n

Espoir’s struggling in relegation<\/b><\/p>\n

The Rusizi-based club is now stumbling in the relegation zone after they were hammered 2-0 at home by Etincelles. Espoir looked clueless from the start to the end of the encounter and have been mediocre throughout the season so far.<\/p>\n

The team is now joint-bottom of the league table with seven points.<\/p>\n

They have to lift up their game if they want to remain in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Mubiru again carries Sunrise on his shoulders<\/b><\/p>\n

Striker Yafesi Mubiru is enjoying the best football career of his life at Sunrise FC, having scored in all his last three games for Sunrise FC including a hat-trick in the 5-2 win over Rwamagana City in Week 13.<\/p>\n

The Ugandan striker was the live wire of Sunrise FC this season and he showed it again in Week 14 as he scored a goal in his side\u2019s 2-2 draw with Marine FC on Saturday.<\/p>\n
