Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwandans who live in the midwest part of the United States of America (USA) over the weekend,celebrated the 35th anniversary of RPF-Inkotanyi.<\/p>\n

The anniversary was celebrated under the theme\u201cA revolution aimed at creativity and rational thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event gathered various diaspora dubbed ‘Christmas Gala Night\u2019 and was held at Knollwood Country Club, in Indiana state.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, December 18, they celebrated the RPF anniversary along with the launch of a new campaign called \u201cRwanda my home country, protect the brand.\u201d the initiative is expected to showcase the beauty of Rwanda to the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, the counselor of the Rwandan Embassy in the USA, Lawrence Manzi, who represented the ambassador pointed out that after 35 years, there have been many achievements such as restoring security in the country and elsewhere on the African continent.<\/p>\n

Manzi also reiterated that the RPF soldiers liberated the country and urged the diaspora to sustain that freedom.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone should make a commitment to protect our country as well as show the difference and we are calling upon every member to prove the existence of RPF members in a place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The head of the Rwandan diaspora in the USA, Yehoyada Mbangukira, reminded delegates that they are the ambassadors of Rwanda wherever they are.<\/p>\n

In addition, he shared that his American workmate visited the country mainly because of working with a Rwandan citizen.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, members of the diaspora were urged to keep good faith in the government, help it prosper, fight for it and even sacrifice for it.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the same occasion, John Musiine, the head of RPF in the Midwest, tasked the youth to play a critical role in debunking the lies of those who want to damage the image of Rwanda.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t be complacent! Don\u2019t let people tarnish the image of Rwanda. Tell the world the truth about Rwanda\u2019s progress,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Another participant Liliane Nyamuziga also urged the youth to change their mindset, sacrifice for their nation, and help it thrive.<\/p>\n

During the event, the embassy also provided some services including registering the fingerprints of people who need new biometric passports among others.<\/p>\n
