Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The rainfall early cessation communicated in the seasonal forecast which was predicted to be in the third and fourth week of December was altered because of changes in sea surface temperature from cold to slightly warm conditions, Rwanda Meteorology Agency has announced.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis led to rains continuing in many parts of the country and dates of rainfall cessations will be communicated towards the end of December 2022,\u201d it said on Wednesday in a 10-day rain forecast.<\/p>\n

From December 21 to December 31, 2022, rainfall ranging between 30 and 150 mm is expected across the country meaning an increase in rainfall is expected.<\/p>\n

A higher amount of rainfall is expected to range between 120 and 150 mm over parts of Rusizi, Nyamasheke and southern parts of Nyaruguru Districts.<\/p>\n

The remaining parts of Western Province, Nyaruguru District, most parts of Nyamagabe, and western parts of Musanze, Gakenke and Huye Districts are expected to record rainfall ranging between 90 and 120 mm.<\/p>\n

The rainfall ranging between 30 and 60 mm is the lowest amount of rainfall expected over most parts of Nyagatare, Gatsibo, Kayonza, southern parts of Kirehe, Ngoma and Bugesera Districts, eastern Nyanza and Gisagara Districts.<\/p>\n

Slightly strong to moderate wind speed ranging between four and eight metres per second is expected across the country.<\/p>\n

Moderate wind speed ranging between four and six metres per second is expected over most parts of the country except in some parts of Nyaruguru, Ruhango, Ngororero, Gicumbi and Rubavu Districts where slightly strong wind speed ranging between six and eight metres per second is expected.<\/p>\n

The average maximum temperature is expected to range between 18\u00b0C and 28\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

The few parts of Kigali City, Amayaga region, Bugarama plain, Bugesera and Ngoma Districts are expected to experience higher temperatures ranging between 26\u00b0C and 28\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Parts of Ngororero, Rubavu, Nyabihu, Musanze, Burera, Gicumbi and Nyamagabe Districts are expected to receive lower temperatures ranging between 18oC and 20 oC.<\/p>\n

\u201c Impacts related to accumulated rainfall conditions are expected in some parts of Western and Southern Provinces, therefore, mitigation and preventive measures should be put in place,\u201d Meteo Rwanda said.<\/p>\n
