Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>On the occasion of the match between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain and as part of its program to promote Ligue 1 Uber Eats internationally, the Professional Football League (LFP) organized a Ligue 1 Touch event in Kigali.<\/p>\n

Launched in September 2020, the Ligue 1 Touch program aims to meet fans from all over the world, and thus promote Ligue 1 Uber Eats and its clubs in strategic territories for its development.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the closing match of the 11th day of Ligue 1 Uber Eats between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, the LFP and its local partners, Canal + Rwanda and Canal Olympia, on Sunday, October 24, organized a Ligue 1 Touch event in Kigali, capital of Rwanda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are celebrating football with our partners Ligue 1 and RDB. With people now vaccinated and covid-19 slowing down, we thought it is a good timing for us to celebrate football with our partners and football fans in general,\u201d said Canal+ Rwanda boss Sophie TCHATHOUA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to gather people who are in sports because we share the same values of entertainment through sports. We are broadcasting a lot of entertainment and education channels but Canal+\u2019s DNA is about Football. It\u2019s important for us that Canal+ brings Ligue 1 on TV since 1984,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Many fans as well as companies and national media gathered at the Canal Olympia Rebero in a festive and friendly atmosphere to attend the retransmission of the Classic. Fans in attendance were able to vibrate to the rhythm of an engaged and suspenseful match.<\/p>\n

A similar event took place simultaneously in Douala, Cameroon where fans were also able to watch the match and enjoy several animations before the match.<\/p>\n

Ligue 1 Uber Eats wants to get more involved in the African continent, one of the key territories for its development. As part of the Ligue 1 Touch program, these event formats will multiply in order to bring Ligue 1 Uber Eats closer to African fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking to organize more of these events so that our African fans can discover and feel more than just watching Ligue 1 on TV,\u201d said LFP Director of International Development, Yoann Godin.<\/p>\n
