Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Sunrise FC Secretary General Frank Kahangwa has hailed his team for showing their character that was key to finishing the first round of the Rwanda Premier League in impressive form.<\/p>\n

The Nyagatare-based club had a slow start to the season to the point that they found themselves hovering around the relegation zone before they managed to bounce back by the time the league took shape.<\/p>\n

The club finished the first round of the league unbeaten during their last five matches, winning four and drawing once, a run that helped them rediscover their form and finish the first round in 8th position with 22 points.<\/p>\n

Kahanga admits that the team went through a tough start to the season but hailed the coach and players they regrouped to pick up their impressive form that helped them get important results.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe struggled for form at the beginning and we went on to drop to 13th position on the table. But we are excited that we bounced back and finished the first round sitting eighth although the top 7 remains our target this season,” Kahangwa told Times Sport.<\/p>\n

“Our aim for the second round is to go all out, bring players, staff and club management together and work as a team. There won\u2019t be time to relax because we are determined to keep the momentum and remain focused. I believe that the players we have can help us achieve our goal,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Different clubs will be looking to reinforce their squads when the transfer window opens in January.<\/p>\n

Kahangwa said that the club has not yet decided whether they will need to bring in new signings, insisting that they are satisfied with the squad they have at their disposal.<\/p>\n

“Currently, the squad we have can help us make it this season since no player has shown intent to leave the club either,” he added.<\/p>\n
