Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Huye will be the next stop for the 2022\/2023 sitting volleyball championship which resumes over the weekend.<\/p>\n

After a successful phase one of the competition that was held at Bugesera Stadium back in November, teams are now gearing for Phase Two which take place from January 14-15 at the University of Rwanda, Huye campus.<\/p>\n

The two-day tournament will attract 28 teams of which 17 are men teams while 11 teams are women\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Participating men\u2019s teams include Gisagara,Gasabo, Musanze, Rubavu, Rusizi, Kicukiro, Karongi, Ruhango, Burera, Rutsiro, Nyamasheke, Ngoma, Nyagatare, Gatsibo, Kayonza, Muhanga and Rulindo.<\/p>\n

The women’s competition will bring together teams from Bugesera , Gicumbi, Musanze, Nyarugenge, Rubavu, Gakenhe, Ruhango, Rulindo, Nyanza and Rusizi.<\/p>\n

Rwanda is a dominant force in Africa when it comes to Paralympics game. The country became the first Sub-Saharan women\u2019s team in history, in any sport, to compete at the Paralympic Games at Rio 2016.<\/p>\n

They sitting volleyball team qualified for Paralympics at Tokyo 2020 and in 2022 they featured in the World Cup in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n

Some of outstanding players are looking forward to making the best of the championship in a push to get a call up in the sitting volleyball national team if they excel.<\/p>\n
