Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>A cabinet meeting on Monday January 30, appointed Zephanie Niyonkuru as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports (MINISPORTS).<\/p>\n

He replaced Didier Shema Maboko who was suspended from the position in September last year.<\/p>\n

Niyonkuru previously served as the deputy CEO of Rwanda Development Board, a position he assumed from July 2019 until he was dropped from the position in October last year.<\/p>\n

He also served as the Board Chairman of Rwanda Airports Company Limited.<\/p>\n

Like his predecessor, Niyonkuru also has a background in sports as a football referee. Football governing body (Ferwafa) awarded him as the referee of the year in 2016.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rwego Ngarambe, who was working with Rwanda Basketball Federation FERWABA also appointed as Director General in charge of Sports Development.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old, who is living his dream as a sports lawyer, is one of the few Rwandans in the profession.<\/p>\n

Rwego is a certified legal professional representing athletes, industry boards, teams, leagues, and other sports organisations.<\/p>\n

He holds a Master\u2019s degree in International Sports Law that he got in 2021 from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economi\u0301a (ISDE) in Madrid, Spain.<\/p>\n
