Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Bugesera FC’s new head coach Eric Nshimiyimana has vowed to change the club\u2019s winning mentality until he turns them into a football powerhouse.<\/p>\n

Nshimiyimana was last week appointed as Bugesera new head coach for the next 18 months, in a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2024. He replaced sacked Etienne Ndayiragije who was later assigned to coach Burundi national team.<\/p>\n

Ndayiragije left the club struggling for results and his successor has a tough task to turn the club\u2019s fortunes during his stay to win the trust of his new employers.<\/p>\n

With Bugesera now 12th on the league table with 19 points, the coach wants to revive the players\u2019 mentality so that they can challenge big teams for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to win more games than we lose in every tournament that we compete in this season. My ultimate goal is to turn this club into a country powerhouse,\u201d said the former Rwanda international.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have full support of the club management. We have to be a competitive team and the players must fit into the project as well. We have to be consistent enough and ready to put up a tough fight throughout the season,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

One of the greatest midfielders to have emerged from East Africa and by far the best midfielder Rwanda has ever produced, Nshimiyimana is now looking to build a new legacy in his coaching career.<\/p>\n

As he reunites with his former AS Kigali assistant Djabir Mutarambirwa, the duo aims to make a quick impact to Bugesera\u2019s results in both the top flight league and Peace Cup.<\/p>\n
