Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda Premier League giants Rayon Sports have announced they will continue to compete in the 2023 Peace Cup just 48hours after withdrawing from the tournament.<\/p>\n

The club controversially withdrew from 2023 Peace Cup just minutes before their last 16 second leg tie against Intare FC on Wednesday, March 8, at Bugesera Stadium.<\/p>\n

Coach Francis Haringingo and his men were on their way to the stadium in Nyamata for the match when football governing body (Ferwafa) emailed the club management that their match was rescheduled to Friday, March 10, same venue in a late communication that club president Jean-Fide\u0300le Uwayezu described as \u2018beyond imagination\u2019.<\/p>\n

Uwayezu claimed that his team, which plays AS Kigali on Sunday in the league, wasn\u2019t ready to play two matches in 48 hours promotion the committee to pull the club out of the Peace Cup.<\/p>\n

However, after a fruitful discussion with the football governing body (Ferwafa) that the match must be pushed to a later date, the Blues agreed to carry on in Peace Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter smooth discussions between the management of Rayon Sports and Ferwafa; We would like to announce that Rayon Sports has agreed to return to the 2023 Peace Cup,\u201d reads a statement signed by club president Jean-Fidele Uwayezu.<\/p>\n

The Blues beat Intare FC 2-1 in the first leg. Ferwafa will communicate the new dates when the second leg will be played.<\/p>\n
