Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda national team head coach Carlos Alos Ferrer maintains that Benin is still a dangerous side despite the Cheetahs lying at the bottom of Group L of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers without a single point.<\/p>\n

Ferrer hinted that Benin has some quality players who can make a difference on the pitch as they push to record their first victory of the qualifiers when they host Amavubi at the Stade de l’Amitie on Wednesday, March 22.<\/p>\n

“We know that Benin has zero points at the moment but we also know the potential of the team. They are really a good side. Benin needs the points just like we do as well,” Alos stated in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aware of the threat Benin can pose. We know the top players they have like Sessi D’Almeida. We have monitored them and my team is well prepared for the game,” he added.<\/p>\n

Ferrer also stressed that he is not looking at the fact that Benin lost against Mozambique in Cotonou as he followed the match and the results were misleading.<\/p>\n

“When you look at Benin’s last game here, the result was not a true reflection of the game. They lost 1-0 to Mozambique but I think they deserve to have at least a point from the encounter because they played well,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We are here to do our job, but Benin can be dangerous, they have a new coach and things can change.”<\/p>\n

The Spanish gaffer further reiterated that he has absolute confidence in his players as he hopes to qualify Rwanda to their second AFCON in history.<\/p>\n

“My motive is intact; it is to qualify Rwanda to the next AFCON. I have 100 percent trust in my players that we can achieve it.”<\/p>\n

“Every game has a different approach so the strategy we will use against Benin will not be the same as the one we used against Senegal in Dakar, ” he added.<\/p>\n

Rwanda are third in the Group with one point from two games after drawing 1-1 with Mozambique and losing 1-0 to Senegal.<\/p>\n
