Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>APR FC captain Djabel Manishimwe insists the title race is not over yet despite Kiyovu leading the way with four matches to go.<\/p>\n

The military side dropped points following Saturday\u2019s 2-1 defeat to Police at Kigali Pele Stadium, a result that saw them surrender the top spot of Rwanda Premier League table to current leaders Kiyovu.<\/p>\n

Despite suffering the title setback, Manishimwe insists there is still hope for the title as he vowed to work hard, win the four remaining matches and let fate decide their destiny as far as winning the league title is concerned.<\/p>\n

“Mathematically, it is possible for us to win the title. We are firmly focused on the remaining four matches to see what happens. The better thing is that we still have four games that we have to win,” the former Rayon Sports midfielder said.<\/p>\n

“We still have a chance and we must fight until the end. Our target is to retain the title because it is our dream. Sometimes you plan and things don’t come your way but we will give our best in every match we have ahead of us,” he added.<\/p>\n

The final four games will bring two big tests against AS Kigali and relegation strugglers Espoir FC before taking on Rwamagana and Gorilla.<\/p>\n

APR have won the 20 league titles, ranking them the most successful football club in the post-Genocide era.<\/p>\n

SC Kiyovu, who lead the race with 56 points, have an upper hand on the title as they have a three-point advantage ahead of second-placed APR and four ahead of fierce rivals Rayon Sports who sit third with 52 points.<\/p>\n

The title race has been characterized by dramatic results that have seen SC Kiyovu, APR and Rayon Sports exchanging the top spot during the past games of the second round of the league. Each of the three teams still stand to win the title as they wait for the final four fixtures to decide their fate.<\/p>\n
