Marines FC moved four points clear of the relegation zone after beating Bugesera FC 1-0 on Saturday at Umuganda Stadium.<\/p>\n

Taiba Mbonyumwami\u2019s 72nd minute made the difference as the Rubavu-based side piled misery on Bugesera whose relegation battle looks more serious than anticipated and now waiting for their fate to be decided in their final two matches against Etincelles and AS Kigali.<\/p>\n

The defeat saw Bugesera drop to 14th place on the table and are just two points ahead of 15th placed Rutsiro who beat Sunrise 1-0 in an early fixture held at Umuganda Stadium.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Rwamagana City held Police FC to a goalless draw. The result means that Vincent Mashami\u2019s side has not registered a win in the last four games, having lost twice against Rayon Sports in the Peace Cup and Rutsiro in the league.<\/p>\n

Police last won a match on April 22 when they beat APR 2-1 at Kigali Pele Stadium.<\/p>\n

The law enforcers have now dropped to fifth place with 46 points after AS Kigali beat Gasogi United 2-1 to reclaim their fourth place with 47 points.<\/p>\n

Mukura also leapfrogged Etincelles to the sixth place after snatching a 2-0 victory over the Rubavu-based side at Huye Stadium.<\/p>\n

Special Sunday<\/b><\/p>\n

Title contenders Kiyovu SC, Rayon Sports and APR FC return to title race action on Sunday, May 7.<\/p>\n

Kiyovu travel to Ubworoherane Stadium ahead of a must-win fixture against Musanze while Rayon Sports will welcome Gorilla FC at Muhanga Stadium.<\/p>\n

APR host relegated Espoir who will be playing just for pride as they have nothing to lose.<\/p>\n

Kiyovu SC lead the table with 57 points, followed by Rayon Sports who have 55, while defending champions APR FC are third with 54 points.<\/p>\n

The title will be Kiyovu’s to lose but they will have to win all their three remaining matches to lift it for the first time in 30 years. otherwise, anything less than that could halt their title hopes with Rayon and APR looking not ready to give up until the last minute.<\/p>\n
