According to NAEB, last week (Apr, 29 \u2013 May, 5) Rwanda horticulture export volume was worth 338.5MT that fetched U$ 630,636 with major destinations including; DRC, UAE, UK, Netherlands, Germany, and Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The country is looking to expand its horticulture products export footprint through tapping in opportunities at the Swedish-East African Chamber of Commerce Business & Investment Forum in Stockholm.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt #SWEACBIF23, \u2018Made in Rwanda\u2019 horticulture is on display with National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) & Tearfund through the \u2018Catalysing Market prospects for Horticulture smallholder farmers and SMEs Project\u2019 funded by the EU. Let\u2019s empower local farmers and boost sustainable agriculture,\u201d the Rwandan embassy in Sweden tweeted on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to the organisers, \u201cour key annual business event with an aim of promoting business flow, trade and investments between Sweden and East Africa is being held in Stockholm on May 9th 2023. The full event will take part over three days with field visits on may 10th and 11th.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Swedish \u2013 East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) was founded in November 2010 as the first Swedish chamber of commerce to focus on business opportunities in Africa.<\/p>\n

According to Jan Furuvald, Chairman of SWEAAC, the Chamber offers a platform for the Embassies and visiting dignitaries, where they can meet informally the Swedish and diaspora business communities.<\/p>\n

The prime objectives are to provide a meeting place for business people with an interest in the EAC and to organize seminars which provide insight in the economy and private sector of the EAC.<\/p>\n

SWEACC is growing rapidly and now has 200 members, ranging from private people to large companies.<\/p>\n

In a short period of time SWEACC has established excellent contacts with the Swedish Department for Foreign Affairs, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Sida , Business Sweden \u2013 the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, regional chambers of commerce in Sweden and the EAC and other organisations with focus on trade with EAC.<\/p>\n
