Africa-Press<\/a> – Rwanda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Self-Worth Initiative, a Non Governmental Organisation through which Rwanda National Congress (RNC) terror cell clandestinely conducts its activities in Uganda has been ordered to close shop.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the RNC in neighbouring Uganda may have to look for other means of survival for its members because the channel through which it receives funding has been sabotaged.<\/p>\n

The Ugandan government announced on Friday it had halted the activities of 54 non-governmental organisations, a major escalation of its efforts to tighten control over civil society.<\/p>\n

Boonabana Prossy (pictured above) and Sula Nuwamanya with the help of Uganda\u2019s Security organs had previously created a fictitious NGO Self-Worth Initiative under which activities of RNC would be conducted clandestinely.<\/p>\n

Possibly with the appointment of Uganda\u2019s new Security Minister Maj.Gen. (Rtd) Jim Muhwezi, some things may surely change as Rwanda and Uganda try to rekindle their cooperation behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

RNC which previously enjoyed protection and support from Uganda\u2019s Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and other security agencies. It always held meetings concealed as Self-Worth Initiative activities in an effort to galvanise the organisation whose intentions are largely to distablise Rwanda.<\/p>\n

The Uganda government said on Thursday that it had decided to suspend Self-Worth Initiative and other 50+ NGOs because they had failed to comply with legislation covering their activities, including operating with expired permits, failing to file accounts or failing to register with the authorities.<\/p>\n

However, it should be noted that Uganda had previously denied any knowledge of the existence of the Self-Worth Initiative and any links to RNC.<\/p>\n

On November, 22nd 2019, Uganda\u2019s ruling party mouthpiece Ofwono Opondo drove to the government Media Centre and made remarks exonerating the Kampala regime from any links to Rwanda National Congress terror group.<\/p>\n

\u201cUganda does not know, host or deal in any way with such a group,\u201d adding, \u201cUganda does not harbour any intentions of destabilising the government of Rwanda,\u201d Ofwono Opondo said last year.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in 2020, an investigation conducted by Special Forces Command, several findings were discovered especially exhibits that directly pin Uganda on the Rwanda National Congress and other terror cells opposed to the government in Kigali.<\/p>\n

The Taarifa series, which has consistently exposed the flaws in Uganda\u2019s intelligence gathering, analysis and prioritisation, recently triggered an independent special investigation on the powerful Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is only the Special Forces Command (SFC) that has the power to investigate CMI because other agencies are low ranking in mandate,\u201d our source privy to Uganda\u2019s security policy said last year.<\/p>\n

RNC and its members in Uganda have been behind the various mudslinging and character assasination of Rwandans in Uganda leading to their arbitrary arrest, detention and torture at the hands of the dreaded CMI. Most victims are usually dumped at the border with Rwanda.<\/p>\n

For example on Thursday, Uganda security agencies dumped 26 Rwandans composed of 20 men, 4 women and 2 children. According to their testimonies, they had been detained at Matinda prison in Mbarara district while in Uganda.<\/p>\n
