Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Livondo Shimenga, the head coach of Butula Boys of Kenya rugby U15 team, is confident that his team can win the championship of the 2023 Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) games scheduled to take place in Huye, Rwanda from August 17-27th.<\/p>\n

Butula won the Kenyan national schools rugby championship in April and they are now in camp preparing for the championship in Rwanda which is two months away.<\/p>\n

“We are preparing for the East African Secondary School Games in Rwanda in August. We want to go there to win and make Kenya proud.” Shimenga said.<\/p>\n

“We are focusing on some of the minor errors we made during the national championships, including passing and other aspects of the game. We are assured of our success in Rwanda.”<\/p>\n

The FEASSSA games are used to foster unity and also unearth sporting talents among secondary schools in East Africa.<\/p>\n

The 2023 edition will have host nation Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Zanzibar vying for honours in sporting disciplines such as football, swimming, athletics, netball, rugby, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, lawn tennis and badminton.<\/p>\n

Huye won hosting rights for FEASSSA, beating 2018 host city Musanze and Rubavu.<\/p>\n

The Games were moved from Kigali to Huye, Southern Province in March, after organisers were told that some sports facilities in the Rwandan capital, including Amahoro Stadium and Kigali Pele Stadium will not be available as they are undergoing renovation.<\/p>\n
