Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial early on Wednesday, June 21, to pay tribute to victims and survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.<\/p>\n President Hichilema, who was accompanied by a delegation of public and private sector officials, laid a wreath in memory of the over 250,000 bodies interred at the memorial.<\/p>\n \u201cVisited the museum today and was taken through the experiences of the Genocide.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cThis is a serious and traumatic attack not only on the Rwandan people but also the whole of humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n Such should not be allowed to happen again anywhere else in the world, noted President Hichilema, following a guided tour at the memorial in Kigali.<\/p>\n \u201cGod help the people of Rwanda to achieve real healing and focus on the developmental agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2018, Zambia said its government was committed to partaking in efforts aimed at bringing to book perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.<\/p>\n The directive followed an extradition treaty that was previously signed between both countries.<\/p>\n\r\n
