Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>At a very young age, Chrisy Neat real name Ruth Kanoheli fell in love with the art of music and decided to join a Sunday school choir, a decision she believes that changed her life.<\/p>\n

At the time, as a young girl, she said she always wanted to make a change in the music industry and be the first female music producer in Rwanda, because she had noticed that there wasn\u2019t any female representing others in this area.<\/p>\n

Born in Nyagatare district, Chrisy Neat relocated to Kigali and saw her dreams come true when she joined Nyundo School of Arts and Music in 2016, and studied Vocals and Music production.<\/p>\n

She said that back in high school, they used to have debates on why female participation in the entertainment industry was low, and from then, she got an idea of changing the game and be the first female to mix and make music.<\/p>\n

Another inspiration that attracted her attention for production, was how female musicians get assaulted by male producers, and from that, she started her career to also help females who are afraid to make music because of insecurities.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes producers use their titles and sleep with musicians as a way of payment. From all the testimonies I heard, I felt the need to make a change in this industry and create a welcoming space for female musicians,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

However, Chrisy Neat disclosed that the journey wasn\u2019t smooth due to the way she had no female role model to learn from. After graduating at Nyundo School of arts and music, she started producing solo and later got signed by Ibisumizi, a renowned record label owned by Riderman.<\/p>\n

According to Chrisy Neat, being part of the Ibisumizi team is the best experience so far, due to the way she always dreamed of working with big artistes in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting my career, I wouldn\u2019t think that I could get a chance to be part of a big label like Ibisumizi. It is something that I admire, and I hope I will make a huge impact on Rwanda\u2019s music industry through this label,\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition she advised fellow females to join the music industry due to the way it lacks representation of the other gender. Chris Neat Beat is singer, writer, producer and mother who is behind songs like \u2018You Are\u2019 and \u2018Ikibondo\u2019.<\/p>\n
