Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga (RCKV) had a memorable evening on Friday, June 30, as members celebrated their 24th President Installation Night.<\/p>\n The event brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, government officials, friends, family, and aspiring members who were eager to join Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga.<\/p>\n Amidst the festivities, the event also marked a significant transition for Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga. Its outgoing president, Prof. Geoffrey Rugege, bid farewell and received heartfelt appreciation for his exemplary leadership during his tenure. Certificates were awarded to the outgoing board members as a token of appreciation for their dedicated service.<\/p>\n A new chapter was unveiled as incoming president, Livingstone Nkuusi, took the stage. In his address, Nkuusi commended Prof. Rugege for his achievements and pledged to carry forward the club’s mission of supporting communities.<\/p>\n He expressed his commitment to streamlining the membership process, making it more accessible for individuals who are eager to contribute to the club’s cause.<\/p>\n The ceremony also saw the introduction of Nkuusi’s new board and the pinning of new cabinet members.<\/p>\n Additionally, seven individuals were inducted as new members of the club. Each inductee was invited on stage, accompanied by the person who introduced them to the club. They were presented with a pin symbolizing their membership and the commitment they had made to Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga’s values and principles.<\/p>\n The evening concluded with a lively dance as guests celebrated the start of a new era for Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga.<\/p>\n Notable guests in attendance included Clare Akamanzi, the CEO of Rwanda Development Board. She commended the club’s efforts in advancing various community initiatives.<\/p>\n She also expressed her appreciation for the club’s projects, such as the Rotary House for cancer patients in Kinyinya, a public library, and youth mentorship programs. Akamanzi extended her best wishes to Nkuusi, emphasizing the club’s continued support and collaboration with his leadership.<\/p>\n Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga is part of Rotary International, a non-political and non-religious humanitarian service organization that unites over 1.4 million business and professional leaders worldwide. Rotary International aims to provide community service, promote integrity, and foster goodwill, peace, and understanding globally.<\/p>\n Members are committed to utilizing their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects and address global challenges. The club focuses on seven key areas including education and literacy, fighting disease, water and sanitation, saving mothers and children, economic and community development, promoting peace, and protecting the environment.<\/p>\n There are 10 Rotary Clubs currently operating across the country.<\/p>\n\r\n
