Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The Rotary Club of Kigali Karisimbi (RCKK) on Saturday July 1, held its first ever Presidential Installation Ceremony jointly with Rotaract Club, in an event that first anniversary of the charter of Rotary Club.<\/p>\n The event followed a recent visit to Karisimbi village in Musanze district where the club derives its name.<\/p>\n During the visit, members donated scholastic materials and paid community based health insurance (Mutuelle de sante) for more than 100 families.<\/p>\n Speaking at the event, Kelechi Anyanwu, the Ex- charter president recognized the team for its selfless work during his prime in office.<\/p>\n “I wish I could have done more but I’m consoled by the fact that growing a club from scratch is a process that can never be rushed. However, I have no doubt about Club’s affairs as it’s in good hands,\u201d Anyanwu said.<\/p>\n Satish Kumar the new charter president commended Anyanwu for setting an incredible example to follow. “I am fully committed to building upon the foundation laid by our ex-charter president. I pledge to continue working tirelessly to advance the goals and values of RCKK,” he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI am vowing to empower communities, supporting sustainable initiatives especially distribution of environmentally friendly stoves to tackle climate change issues,” he added.<\/p>\n Boris Karenzi, the newly elected charter president of the Rotaract succeeded Olivia Tusiime, vowed to work hand in hand with mother Club, while recognizing the importance of nurturing talents.<\/p>\n “We will invest in youth development programs, mentorship opportunities, and educational initiatives to empower young individuals to become agents of positive change.”<\/p>\n The event also featured the recognition of outstanding members, the passing of the presidential torch, and the induction of four new members, injecting fresh energy and enthusiasm into the clubs. They were presented with a pin symbolizing their membership and the commitment they had made to Rotary Club of Kigali Karisimbi’s values and principles.<\/p>\n Rotary Club of Kigali is part of Rotary International, a non-political and non-religious humanitarian service organization that unites over 1.4 million business and professional leaders worldwide. Rotary International aims to provide community service, promote integrity, and foster goodwill, peace, and understanding globally.<\/p>\n The RCKK was founded with a shared vision of service and over the years, it has made tremendous strides in various areas, including education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and socio-economic development.<\/p>\n Additionally, the Club is among the first three clubs to receive Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) certificate. In just 100 days of charter, the club won an award of recognition from Rotary international as one of the best performing clubs in Rwanda.<\/p>\n The Joint Presidential Installation Ceremony not only symbolized the commencement of a new chapter under the leadership of the newly elected presidents but also served as an opportunity to reflect on past achievements and set ambitious goals for the future.<\/p>\n\r\n
