Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>She-Amavubi head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu is optimistic that excuses won\u2019t matter as long as her ladies get a good result against Uganda\u2019s Crested Cranes when the pair face off in Wednesday\u2019s Paris 2024 Games qualifier first leg at Kigali Pele Stadium.<\/p>\n

A lack of certified grounds in Uganda left the country with no option but to host Rwanda in Kigali, meaning that two qualifying games will be held at Kigali Pele Stadium.<\/p>\n

Rwanda Women have never beaten Uganda before but Nyinawumuntu believes her team can change the story not just to end the Ugandans\u2019 dominance but to also keep their hopes of qualifying for the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team is ready, all players are in good condition, no injuries. We are aware of strengths and the experience of Uganda at these bigger stages but we also have our advantages, so we will have no excuses,\u201d Nyinawumuntu told Times Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cI once again ask our fans to attend the game and show us their support because we believe this is our time to shine as women ‘s national team.\u201d<\/p>\n

The winner of the qualifier between Rwanda and Uganda will face Cameroon in the next round.<\/p>\n

The next Olympic Games will take place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, 2024 where Rwanda will be looking to represent Africa in the women\u2019s football competition for the first time ever in the country\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
