Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Egypt\u2019s Aisha Hassan and South Sudan\u2019s Khaman Maluach (NBA Academy Africa) have been named the Most Valuable Players of the 19th edition Basketball Without Borders Africa camp that concluded in Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday.<\/p>\nThe top prize, also known as Kim Bohuny BWB Africa 2023 MVP, goes to basketball prospects, male and female who have been outstanding during the four-day camp which took place in the American International School of Johannesburg.<\/p>\n
Hassan and Maluach were among 80 high-school aged top prospects from across the continent who were at the BWB Africa camp learning from NBA and WNBA current and former coaches and players.<\/p>\n
Besides the duo, Mozambique\u2019s Shanaia Matusse and Chad\u2019s Mahamat Tahir won the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award while Rwanda\u2019s Jane Dusabe was recognized with the B.J. Johnson BWB Africa 2023 Most Improved Player award.<\/p>\n
Following the final games of the camp, veteran NBA coach David Joerger and former NBA player Tacko Fall\u2019s Aces were crowned the BWB Africa 2023 Girls champions while 2018 NBA Coach of the Year Dwane Casey and 2022 NBA champion Jonathan Kuminga\u2019s Pistons were crowned the BWB Africa 2023 Boys champions.<\/p>\n
