Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Spanish coach Carlos Alos Ferrer on Tuesday, August 8, announced he is leaving his role as Rwanda coach.<\/p>\n Ferrer\u2019s departure follows Rwanda\u2019s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations that will take place in Co\u0302te d\u2019Ivoire in January 2024.<\/p>\n The Spanish gaffer took charge of Rwanda in March 2022, replacing Vincent Mashami. He later extended his stay at the hot seat in March on a two-year deal that would keep him at the helm until March 2025.<\/p>\n However, his poor run of results at the AFCON 2023 qualifiers didn\u2019t go down well with his employers. A recent 2-0 shock defeat to Mozambique in Huye back in June ended the country\u2019s qualification dream putting the coach\u2019s future in jeopardy.<\/p>\n Just two weeks after hinting on Amavubi exit,<\/p>\n Spanish gaffer on Tuesday posted a farewell message on his official Instagram page confirming that he leaving the job.<\/p>\n “I want to wish FERWAFA (Amavubi )the very best for the future. The new members of board, the players, the staff and the supporters. I want to say thank you to you for given me the popper to work in this amazing country,\u201d Ferrer said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe came to compete in the qualifiers for AFCON 2023, and now is time to start a new project for the new members of the federation and also for me is time to start a new project.
