Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The second week of the 2023\/24 Primus National League recorded only ten goals with none of the teams winning from away.<\/p>\nAPR began their title defense perfectly in win over Police FC while Rayon Sports again struggled against Gorilla in a match that was shaped by heated tensions between Yamen Zelfani and Moussa Gatera from the touchline.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Etoile de l\u2019Est\u2019s losing streak continues after Saturday\u2019s 1-0 defeat to Sunrise while it took Amagaju FC to register their first victory of the league season since they were promoted back to the topflight league.<\/p>\n

Gorilla FC proving to be Rayon Sports nemesis<\/b><\/p>\n
Gorilla FC are gradually becoming a torn in the flesh of Rayon Sports as they continue to frustrate the Blues any time they meet.<\/p>\n
Rayon have failed to beat Gorilla FC in the past three games, with the latter winning once and drawing twice in the process.<\/p>\n
Moussa Gatera\u2019s side shockingly thrashed Rayon 3-1 on May 7, 2023, A score line which ended their title ambitions when they were flying high. The two teams also played out a 1-1 draw in a preseason game before they played out a goalless draw on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Gorilla has become Rayon\u2019s nightmare recently and Saturday\u2019s clash was a \u2018bloody\u2019 one with Zelfani ending up injured before he was involved in a heated row with Gatera on the touchline as both sides struggled to break the deadlock.<\/p>\n
The Agblevor goal show continues<\/b><\/p>\n
Agblevor has had a great start to the season, scoring three times in two games.<\/p>\n
The Ghanaian put up a man-of-the-match performance against Etoile de l\u2019Est and Bugesera. It is evident that he will flourish more as the season begins.<\/p>\n
Agblevor has what it takes to win the top scorer gong.<\/p>\n
Shaiboub proving his worth at APR<\/b><\/p>\n
The Sudanese central midfielder has been a key figure in Thierry Froger\u2019s side and it is obvious that APR made a good signing who could play a big role in the club\u2019s ambitions domestically and on the continental stage.<\/p>\n
Shaiboub has established himself as arguably the best player for APR team so far this season as he continues to excel both in the CAF Champions League and the Primus National League.<\/p>\n
He remains the engine of the team and, if he excels, APR can break their jinx.<\/p>\n
Amagaju off to perfect start<\/b><\/p>\n
For a newly promoted team, four points in their first two games is very encouraging.<\/p>\n
The Nyamagabe based club traveled to Huye Stadium to hold Mukura VS to a 1-1 draw in the opening match of the league before defeating Etincelles 2-0 on Monday.<\/p>\n
If Amagaju continue to hit the top form, they could be every opponents\u2019 nightmare no matter how big they are.<\/p>\n
Kiyovu can only get better<\/b><\/p>\n
AS Kigali have over the years been the bogey side for Kiyovu Sports but that was exorcised on Saturday, August 26, when the Citizens fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Green Baggies.<\/p>\n
Both teams are still in a rebuilding process after mass player exodus during the transfer window but Kiyovu were the better side and they deserved to win the rivalry.<\/p>\n
For the past two seasons, Kiyovu has always disposed of players but they came back stronger with a new set to challenge for the title.<\/p>\n
Their output against AS Kigali shows that they can pose a threat again.<\/p>\n
