Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Ten basketball teams will take part in the upcoming Africa Zone Five Club Championship to be held in Rwanda starting on October 21.<\/p>\n

The showpiece to be held at BK Arena and Lycee de Kigali gymnasium will end on October 28.<\/p>\n

Hosts Rwanda will field two teams, APR and REG.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are expecting an exciting and highly competitive tournament,\u201d said Fionah Ishimwe, the Executive Director of the Rwanda Basketball Federation.<\/p>\n

The tournament acts as a qualifier for the 2023 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women which will take place in Egypt, from December 8 to 17, bringing together 10 women\u2019s basketball clubs from all over the continent.<\/p>\n

In 2022, APR women\u2019s basketball team represented Rwanda at the continental showpiece, finishing eighth out of 10 clubs.<\/p>\n

Tanzania: Vijana Queens and JKT Stars<\/p>\n

Rwanda: APR and REG<\/p>\n

South Sudan: Nile Legends<\/p>\n

UGANDA: JKL Lady Dolphins and UCU Lady Canons<\/p>\n

BURUNDI: Gladiators<\/p>\n

Kenya: Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Zetech University.<\/p>\n
