Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The FIBA Africa Zone 5 women\u2019s club champion 2023 that will take place in Kigali has been postponed by a week.<\/p>\n

The showpiece was initially scheduled to tip off on October 21 and run through 28, but FIBA Africa has announced that it has been pushed to October 28 through November 4.<\/p>\n

Hosts Rwanda will field two teams, APR and REG.<\/p>\n

It will bring together women\u2019s basketball clubs from various African countries. Already 10 teams from different countries have confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n

Clubs from Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, and hosts Rwanda are expected in Rwanda for the competition.<\/p>\n

The tournament acts as a qualifier for the 2023 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women which will take place in Egypt, from December 8 to 17, bringing together 10 women\u2019s basketball clubs from all over the continent.<\/p>\n

Rwanda expects to be represented at the tournament by APR and REG, the teams that finished first and second, respectively, in the 2023 season.<\/p>\n

In 2022, APR women\u2019s basketball team represented Rwanda at the continental showpiece, finishing eighth out of 10 clubs.<\/p>\n

Tanzania: Vijana Queens and JKT Stars<\/p>\n

Rwanda: APR and REG<\/p>\n

South Sudan: Nile Legends<\/p>\n

UGANDA: JKL Lady Dolphins and UCU Lady Canons<\/p>\n

BURUNDI: Gladiators<\/p>\n

Kenya: Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Zetech University.<\/p>\n
