Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The annually celebrated diaspora event, Rwanda Day, returns on February 2 and 3, 2024, after being temporarily halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

The 11th edition which will take place in Washington D.C., will bring together thousands of Rwandans and friends of Rwanda to reflect on the country\u2019s development and different avenues to make their contributions.<\/p>\n

It is the most looked-forward to event by the Rwandan Diaspora community as they get to meet and engage with President Paul Kagame, on different topics that align with the country\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n

The last edition was held in Bonn, Germany under the theme \u201cRwanda25: Owning our Future,\u201d and it featured different discussions revolving around culture and heritage, innovation, and global connection.<\/p>\n

This edition will return at a time when the country will be witnessing historic moments including commemorating 30 years of rebirth after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, elections, 20th edition of Kwita Izina, among other important events.<\/p>\n

Rwanda Day has, over the last decade, been held at least once a year in various cities in Europe and the Americas.<\/p>\n

Rwanda Day, which was first held on December 4, 2010, in Brussels, Belgium, is a big celebration largely used by the Diaspora community to reflect on how to find solutions to the country\u2019s challenges and advance its development agenda.<\/p>\n
