Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of the Kingdom of Jordan on Sunday, January 7, arrived in Rwanda for a three-day visit, the first of its kind.<\/p>\n

On the first day of his visit, the visiting monarch and President Paul Kagame held a te\u0302te-a\u0300-te\u0302te meeting followed by bilateral talks together with their respective delegations.<\/p>\n

The talks were followed by the signing of various agreements and memoranda of understanding in different areas of cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

On Monday, January 8, King Abdullah II paid tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi during his tour of the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where over 250,000 genocide victims are laid to rest.<\/p>\n

In his message in the tribute book at the memorial, King Abdullah II wrote: \u201cThe Kigali Genocide Memorial commemorates a painful part of Rwanda\u2019s history and a lesson to humanity. It is a testament to this nation\u2019s dedication to national reconciliation. The stories shared here hold lessons to the whole world about overcoming great tragedies and working towards unity, peace, and resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n

King Abdullah II concluded his visit, on Tuesday and was seen off by his host, President Kagame at Kigali International Airport.<\/p>\n
