Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Kiyovu Sports Club has parted ways with Ugandan striker Brian Kalumba after a brief six-month period with the team.<\/p>\n

The forward joined the “Green Baggies” in July 2023, signing a three-year deal. However, he struggled to secure a regular starting position.<\/p>\n

According to sources, a meeting took place on Tuesday, January 16, between the club’s management and the player, resulting in a mutual agreement to terminate the contract.<\/p>\n

The decision was formalised as both parties signing the termination agreement.<\/p>\n

At 25 years old, Kalumba has previously played for Ugandan champions Vipers SC as well as Gaddafi FC, another Ugandan club.<\/p>\n

His acquisition by Kiyovu Sports had been seen as an attempt to fill the void left by Striker Erisa Keith Ssekisambu, who was released by the club in June 2023.<\/p>\n

Kiyovu has faced challenges in scoring goals during the 2023\/24 season. While Burundi’s Richard Kilongozi has displayed brilliance, the other two strikers \u2013 Liberian Mikel Freeman and Brian Kalumba, failed to make a significant impact.<\/p>\n

Currently, Kiyovu Sports sits in 6th place on the table with 22 points from 16 games.<\/p>\n
